Animal Crossing New Leaf Update Download Error

A software update is now available that introduces new features and adjustments to enhance the overall experience. After this update, the title screen will display the title Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo, as seen in the screenshot.

Update: the updates for Animal Crossing: New Leaf (Welcome amiibo) are now available for download in North America!. Earlier this month, Nintendo released the long-awaited update for Animal Crossing: New Leaf, which adds quite a lot of content along with amiibo support. Unfortunately, it looks like it also added a couple of bugs. Animal Crossing: New Leaf (とびだせどうぶつの森もり Tobidase Dōbutsu no Mori?, Animal Forest: Jump Out), known as Animal Forest: Pop Out (튀어나와요 동물의숲, Twieonawayo Dongmul-ui Sup) in South Korea, is a life simulation video game released in 2012 for the Nintendo 3DS. The player takes on the role of mayor of a new town, and with the help of the townsfolk.

Please note: this update is required in order to use Animal Crossing: New Leaf's online features.

Important: You will be able to continue using your saved game data.

The update data will be saved on the SD card inserted in your Nintendo 3DS system. If there is insufficient free space on the SD card, the update will not be applied successfully. You can check how much free space there is on your SD card by opening System Settings from the HOME Menu and selecting Data Management.

Please take care not to delete the update data, which can be viewed by opening System Settings → Data Management → Nintendo 3DS → Add-on Content.

If you didn’t accept the terms of the Nintendo 3DS Service User Agreement and Privacy Policy when you performed the initial setup of your Nintendo 3DS system, you will not be able to connect to the internet and download the update data. Please view the Nintendo 3DS Service User Agreement and Privacy Policy by selecting System Settings → Internet Settings → Other Information → User Agreement.

Wisp’s Wishes

By finding the magic lamp in the main game, you’ll unlock amiibo functionality!
Once acquired, the lamp can be used once a day to summon the ghostly Wisp. Simply tap an amiibo and invite that respective amiibo character to your town, or receive a daily item.
Want to live in a town full of ducks? Or cows? By using specific amiibo figures and cards, that wish can come true!

New Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo cards available!

With 50 new Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo cards launching on 10th November, there are so many more townsfolk to meet!
All of the new Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo cards not only include cool new villagers, but also their RVs as well!

Also on 10^th November, the Sanrio Collaboration Pack will be available via the Official Nintendo AU/NZ eBay Store.

New RV campground!

After updating your game, you’ll notice a new area in your town.
This new campground offers different interactions with special villagers and new shopping opportunities, as well as Harvey, a hilarious new character that will assist with all campground needs!
By tapping a certain amiibo figure or card, that character will show up in their stylish custom RV – this even applies to some non-Animal Crossing amiibo like the Inklings from Splatoon and Wolf Link!

New Minigames!

By finding a Wii U item or Nintendo 3DS XL / New Nintendo 3DS item in an RV at the campground, you can unlock two new mini-games and purchase them with MEOW Coupons.
The Wii U console unlocks the Desert Island Escape mini-game, while Animal Crossing Puzzle League can be accessed with the Nintendo 3DS XL / New Nintendo 3DS item.

The Wii U and Nintendo 3DS items can be obtained via fortune cookies at the Nooklings’ shop, but it’s much easier to obtain these items by scanning any of the 16 Animal Crossing amiibo figures.
Certain Animal Crossing amiibo figures and cards can also be used while playing these new mini-games…

Say cheese!

With the new amiibo Camera, take the coolest in-game selfies ever. By gathering favourite villagers, you can snap a photo and save it to view whenever you like!

MEOW Coupons

By earning new MEOW (Mutual Exchange of Wealth) coupons, you can get unique in-game items at the RV campground or from visiting animal friends.
To earn these coupons, complete new town initiatives, like pulling a set amount of weeds or gathering certain seashells.

Secret Storeroom!

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo, you can purchase a new secret storeroom for your house at Nook’s Homes.
The secret storeroom can be accessed from anywhere in the house and stores tons of collectibles.
Maybe it can even be used to hide a dusty old treasure map in there... isn’t that where all dusty old treasure maps are stored?

Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo lets you customise your home by moving around your furniture and items using the touch screen.
